I have a peanut allergy. It is not a picnic to eat at restaurants with me. But I rather ask questions than end up in the ER with a a swollen tongue and not breathing. So, when someone gave me a monster cookie, I was happy. But then I saw that there was peanut butter and Peanut M&Ms in the cookie, I had to give the cookie away. My friend was mad at me, but she was cool with it after I told her why.

I set out to make my own monster cookies and I will share the recipe with you.

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour(or same amount of grounded rolled oats)

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda(or 3 teaspoons baking powder)

  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt(only if you used baking soda)

  • 2 3/4 cups rolled oats

  • 1 cup raisins

  • 1 12 oz bag of milk chocolate chips(white chocolate chips are good too)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

  • In large bowl, cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until it is fluffy.

  • Stir together flour(grounded rolled oats), baking soda(baking powder), cinnamon, and salt. Gradually beat into butter mixture. Stir in oats, chocolate, and raisins.

  • Spoon the mixture onto your ungreased cookie sheets(or whatever trays you are using to bake your cookies).

  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
