Lonely Girl

There are people who pray on lonely people. There are organizations that pray on people who don't belong to a social circle. I should have been in many cults and evil organizations by now. Some say that I was in one during my childhood. I grew up in a megachurch that many see as evil doctrine and hateful toward others. But it has brought me so much emotional riches. But this is also how things like cults and other things pull you in. They provide you with emotional riches and fulfillment that you haven't found anywhere else. They show you a better version of yourself. You don't see the evil doctrine that is placed behind the brainwashing. They are cleansing your mind of what you already know, and replacing it with their matters.
I have been watching Leah Remini's show on repeat. I read Scientology textbooks in college. I am not in the group. That lifestyle is not for me. I cannot see myself being okay with what goes on in the group. Rape, murder, sexual assault, persecution can be allowed. Mental illness, depression, and homosexuality are seen as excuses to not being good people. The first book that I read was Dianetics. That book scared me. Just read it. You will get where I am coming from.
The mind is weak because it does not have enough knowledge. You can be susceptible to so much if you let it. Religion can be the biggest mindbender of all time if done right. But I can say the same things about Greek systems. They have things in their bylaws that want you to place them before your family or friends. They have secret meetings and rituals that have cult-like activities. There is a dialogue and language that everyone else believes to sound like gibberish. There are things that just don't seem right.
If there are things that make you uncomfortable or make you feel like you are alone, keep in mind that you are not alone in being lonely. I have felt lonely for most of my life. But I have learned that I was not. I have interests that none of my other friends share. There are conversations that they will not understand. There will never be a time, until my funeral anyway, that all of my friends will be able to be in the same room and talk. This is a sad and sobering fact, but it is not uncommon.
If you feel like you need to talk, feel free to send me an email at narrativetherapygirl@gmail.com. You can also send me a message on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. If you are feeling like you are in trouble, please get in contact with someone immediately.
